We think food made from scratch makes a big difference, but it takes the entire team to animate this mission, and every member is charged with this responsibility. We do this through our Fresh Food Pledge. Each team member signs the pledge, committing to serving our residents and guests only the best.

From Scratch

  • Entrees, soups, gravies, salad dressings, potato dishes and baked goods are prepared in house using fresh ingredients
  • Fresh herbs, spices and seasonings are utilized to enhance flavors and reduce salt and sugar
  • Deli meats such as beef, turkey and chicken are roasted and prepared in house
  • Always fresh burgers and fresh prepared mashed potatoes
  • Homemade whipped toppings
  • Always fresh produce (except corn when not in season, peas, pearl onions & lima beans)

Responsibly Sourced


  • We use only U.S.D.A inspected beef, lamb, pork, veal, turkey, chicken or poultry and dairy products are from RBST growth hormone free cows
  • Our meats are free from growth hormones and antibiotics and do not contain fillers
  • Always cage free eggs
  • We use only Monterey Bay approved sustainable seafood
  • Only hormone free milk and yogurts

Environmentally Conscious


  • We are committed to operating procedures that reduce the use of paper and disposable products
  • We support our client in recycling and composting programs
  • We plant and maintain onsite gardens for fresh vegetables and herbs wherever

  • Menus give emphasis to locally and regionally sourced products and ingredients
  • Where available we use locally sourced seafood
  • Menus reflect seasonally available fruits, vegetables and other ingredients

E15, our sister company and industry-leading analytics group provides our partners with data-driven insights and recommendations that positively impact the resident experience. E15’s approach utilizes various data to understand residents, optimize operations and improve key outcomes – including the resident experience and financial performance. 

E15 answers questions like: 

  • What cuisines are the most popular?
  • Which entrees, snacks, and beverages are the most popular?
  • What tastes are unique to this market or region?

But we go even further and rely upon industry-leading data partners, like Nielsen and Datassential, to forecast things that aren’t popular or known yet. E15 created artificial intelligence programs that learn from past performance to predict future trends using the data collected for over ten years.

Recipe and Menu Management

MyUSuite is our proprietary recipe and menu management tool. Resident dietary needs, interventions, and personal requirements combine with recipe scaling, nutritional analysis, menu planning, inventory, forecasting, and production to drive satisfaction while at the same time limiting waste 

Mobile Ordering Experience

ReadyFresh is a simple and user-friendly mobile app that allows for convenient food and beverage preordering, resulting in a contactless experience for your workforce. The app gives guests a superior mobile ordering experience to ensure their freshly prepared order is ready for pick up when they want it – skipping the line for a contactless service. 

All-in One Dining Operations Solution 

With DineRight, we provide our partners with a fully integrated and cloud-based solution with a range of software and hardware tools that will streamline the dining operations while increasing satisfaction and hospitality. DineRight is an all-in-one solution that offers meal service selections, point of sale integration, digital displays for menu and recipe display to increase resident satisfaction and dining websites for expanded outreach for families. 

Contactless Pickup and Delivery 

In today’s dining landscape, customers are looking for alternative service delivery models that ensure food safety and convenience, from touchless ordering to contactless pickup and delivery. Curbside is our answer to this increased demand for touchless advance ordering and curbside pickup. Our guests can select the curbside option when they order on ReadyFresh, our dining website or directly over the phone.

Fresh Benefits – Our culinary and clinical nutrition teams have developed an array of recipes consisting of super smoothies, enriched snacks and fortified foods that are prepared with fresh ingredients to replace commercial supplements used in many healthcare organizations.

Eat Local Campaign

Give your guests what they want with Eat Local, an annual campaign focused on celebrating local produce. Eat Local drives sales while meeting customer demand for local produce and supporting the midsized American family farm and local communities. Under Compass Group’s Sustainability Platform, our definition of local produce includes regional – defined as being within 400 miles of the cafe. This allows us to support a greater number of farms and increase the amount of local produce we purchase.

In 2020, we purchased over 46 million pounds of produce from local vendors, equating to 21% of total spend.
